Holiday in Liguria

Liguria is one of the smallest regions of Italy, after Valle d'Aosta and Molise, but it is one of the most densely populated as it hosts more than 1,600,000 inhabitants. The region is between the Maritime Alps and the Apennines and the Ligurian Sea to the north to south, with an unbroken chain of mountain ranges is very high.
The Ligurian Sea, in front of Liguria, is an arm of the Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of Genoa is an important part and the second largest bay is that of La Spezia. Between the two large bays is the Gulf of Tigullio, from Portofino to Sestri Levante. The coasts are generally high, rocky, jagged, especially in the Riviera di Levante, while to the west are lower on average, sometimes sandy. The ribs are sometimes interrupted by estuaries of small rivers that are often torrential, which crisscross the area perpendicular to the coast at the bottom of deep valleys. Liguria is a land rich in natural beauty where the marriage between land and sea makes it very diverse variety of ecosystems in its territory. In fact there are a national park, nine regional parks, three nature reserves. Tourism is one of the most economically important activity for Liguria. The mild climate, the landscape known as Portofino, Cinque Terre, Porto Venere, the diversification of supply and quality of services is attracting tourists from Italy and abroad. Most of the tourist place in summer, where you can use and enjoy the many kilometers of beaches and bathing services, Rapallo, one of the traditional tourist places. However, in Liguria you can find, in addition to the classic seasonal tourism, such as fishing tourism or rural tourism, or forms of living where you can contribute to fishing or farming along with people in the trade. Tourism in Liguria offers many cultural opportunities, both impromptu (exhibitions, conferences, festivals and celebrations), and visiting villages and historical sites in the region.
