Six apartments, which are directly attached to the wall of the castle or fortress, have been restored since summer 1968. They have taken the place of previous small buildings meant to be used by the farm.

Each apartment has a terrace or garden for relaxing in the open air. Very close to the apartments (100-150 m) there is also a swimming-pool. Il Castello is in Gaiole in Chianti, about 1 km from the village.

In Gaiole and in the small villages nearby there are several pizzerias and restaurants of every level and price category.

Il Castello is very centrally located for daily excursions to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Perugia, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Chianciano, Bagni Vignoni, Pitigliano, and Saturnia.

From Meleto it is possible to go for pleasant walks or bicycle trips in the countryside. In any case, for more opportunities, we suggest you have a car at your disposal.
